Eco Friendly Baby Shower Party

Go Green and live a healthier life style is a great way to help your growing family and our planet.
Small changes is the best thing for the environment. Just remember to reuse, recycle, and renew.

Now you may be wondering how can I apply that into a party theme.
Here are some ideas that you can use to start your Eco friendly baby shower

1. Invitations.
Plantable Seed Paper are easy to make and are well received by guests. You can add food coloring and scented oils for fragrance.

Some examples maybe a bookmakers for a Library Baby Shower theme. Other fun shapes are teacup shaped paper seeds, baby feet, baby hands, cupcake, onsies, rubber ducks, hearts, eggs, or stars and a moon to matches your selected theme.

Using paper punches to recycle colorful magazines are a terrific way for a pop up effect to your baby shower invitations.

You can also decorated it with rubber stamps or make your own by using different button shapes, a new pencil eraser, baby feet or hand prints.

2. Favors
Sew a draw string bag out of burlap or any fabric to place goodies for your Eco friendly guests.

Make your own soy candle and personalize it with your baby shower theme.

Use recycled favor boxes or paper bags to hold some homemade cookies and treats.

Rubber stamps or buttons to decorate the outside of your favors is optional.

3.Decorations
Use recycled colored tissues or yarn for pom poms that can be hung with string around your table scape or buffet table.

Make your own diaper cake center pieces and after it can be gifted to mommy after the baby shower.

Recycle fabric and a wire hanger to make a baby shower wreath that can greet your guest at the door or at a window.

4.Out door Decorations
Use soy candles that can be places in any clean unused glass jar or some great thrift tea cups.

Renew a old baby crib or changing table with a coat of earth friendly fun paint. Now you can hold gifts, prizes, or arrange little stuff animals to wow your friends.

Recycle a cardboard box and make a large Monogram of baby's initial and cover with paper streamers that matches your theme.

5.Table setting
Going green with fresh flower from your local market or fruit will be great for your table scape.

Make a bird house using cereal boxes and glue with fun fabric or recycled paper. Group your bird house around the room for a Nesting Baby Shower theme.
Use a fabric for a tablecloth that can be washed and reused again for another get together.

Reduce waste by using biodegradable plates, spoons, forks, napkins and cups made from corn.

Reusable plates and utensils are also ways to save the earth for your baby shower.

6.Eco Friendly Gifts
The Earth-conscious cloth diaper cover are a great gift for the expected parents.

Organic blankets and bibs are gifts that are affordable and eco friendly for the new baby.

Vintage books and toy blocks that can be repainted are also a fun addition to a baby room.

I hope these ideas will inspired and introduce all kinds of way that we can help our enviorment.
Live, Love, and make every moment count.

                                                            Photo Invitations

Photographs from the past bring back memories of moments that you enjoyed with family and friends. These photos can be shared through homemade invitations.
Now after you choose a picture, for instant a picture of the mother-to-be as a baby or father, scan it at  300 dots per inch (dpi) and save as tiff, an image file name. If you don’t have a computer scanner you can us a photo copy at 100 percent on quality paper. You can also copy  several at a time and adjust as needed.

Amanda Hancocks, author of Hand Made Greeting Cards for Special Occasions, show how easy and fun it is to create fabulous vintage picture cards.

Aging and color-tinting your photos are just some tips that you can use to produce the right baby shower invitation you desire.

  1. Selecting an image and copy it onto slightly thicker paper for this method to work.
  2. Using a saucer, pour hot water into the dish and place a used tea bag to one side.
  3. Next lightly dip the tea bag into cold water, making sure to squeeze it out until it is just damp.
  4. Then you will rub it over the surface in one smooth movement.
  5. Finally, when the picture is dry use a heavy book to flatten out for use.

  1. Color tinting can be created by using half a sachet of instant coffee mix in cold water. After if you want to paintbrush broad strokes, this will allow you to control the density. Remember to use the thick paper for your picture.

  1. Now when adding a palette of watercolors use a fine brush.
  2. Working one area at a time until you have your desired look. Between colors rinse your brush and make sure that the brush is not too wet.

Using light stroke and slowly build up the color for a subtle wash.
The image should be visible through the tinted color in order to achieve the desired look.

Hope this will help you in creating that vintage look that will really wow your friends and family.
