                                                            Photo Invitations

Photographs from the past bring back memories of moments that you enjoyed with family and friends. These photos can be shared through homemade invitations.
Now after you choose a picture, for instant a picture of the mother-to-be as a baby or father, scan it at  300 dots per inch (dpi) and save as tiff, an image file name. If you don’t have a computer scanner you can us a photo copy at 100 percent on quality paper. You can also copy  several at a time and adjust as needed.

Amanda Hancocks, author of Hand Made Greeting Cards for Special Occasions, show how easy and fun it is to create fabulous vintage picture cards.

Aging and color-tinting your photos are just some tips that you can use to produce the right baby shower invitation you desire.

  1. Selecting an image and copy it onto slightly thicker paper for this method to work.
  2. Using a saucer, pour hot water into the dish and place a used tea bag to one side.
  3. Next lightly dip the tea bag into cold water, making sure to squeeze it out until it is just damp.
  4. Then you will rub it over the surface in one smooth movement.
  5. Finally, when the picture is dry use a heavy book to flatten out for use.

  1. Color tinting can be created by using half a sachet of instant coffee mix in cold water. After if you want to paintbrush broad strokes, this will allow you to control the density. Remember to use the thick paper for your picture.

  1. Now when adding a palette of watercolors use a fine brush.
  2. Working one area at a time until you have your desired look. Between colors rinse your brush and make sure that the brush is not too wet.

Using light stroke and slowly build up the color for a subtle wash.
The image should be visible through the tinted color in order to achieve the desired look.

Hope this will help you in creating that vintage look that will really wow your friends and family.
